Shannon Woolf

 Shannon Woolf Counsellor Bournemouth

Shannon is an accredited member of the BACP and has worked in a variety of therapeutic roles since qualifying as a counsellor in 2003. In addition to being a counsellor, she is a fully qualified Montessori Nursery Teacher.

She has worked in a variety of settings, which has been invaluable in enabling her to develop professionally, becoming a skilled, conscientious and empathic clinician. She is committed to providing clients with a professional, supportive, confidential service: onward referral, if required, and information on local agencies able to provide on-going support relevant to her client’s needs.

Working from home, the majority of her caseload is generated from her work as an affiliate for several EAP providers, offering face-to-face, short-term counselling using the ‘Brief Model’. Additionally she provides Psychological First Aid when attending on-sites/critical incidents.

She works according to regulated codes of practice and ethics. She is experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults and couples with all types of presenting issues including abuse, workplace conflicts, domestic violence, bereavement support, financial & legal, debt, gambling, gender issues, OCD, chronic illness and personality disorders.

Until recently she was a registered carer, so she understands first-hand the daily ‘ups and downs’ of caring for a loved one. The responsibilities involved, and the personal sacrifices required, are something she is all too familiar with.
