Sharon Nicholson

Sharon Nicholson Counsellor Bournemouth

Sharonq qualified as a Therapeutic Counsellor in 2006 and is Accredited and Registered with The BACP. She started her private practice in 2007 and also has clinics in the NHS as a Senior High Intensity Counsellor. She specialises in Counselling for Depression (CfD) and supervises other therapists.
She trained in London and the South West and her work to date includes counselling in Women’s Refuge, Further and Higher Education and Employment Assistance Programmes. She has facilitated ‘Pattern Changing’ courses for women who have experienced domestic abuse and designed and facilitated personal and social development programmes for 16-24yr olds (Dorset County Council).

She understands that caring for others can be relentless and you may ignore or dismiss the importance of your own feelings and needs. Learning to recognise and manage the signs, symptoms and triggers of stress can improve your relationships and your emotional and physical wellbeing. Her compassion-focussed approach can help you to strengthen your resources. You can learn to be less self-critical, decrease feelings of anxiety, shame or guilt and increase a sense of calm and confidence.

If you feel confused, isolated or that life is getting on top of you, Sharon can provide you with some breathing space where you can slow things down and make some sense of what you are experiencing. Gaining this clarity can leave you feeling more in control of your life and better able to adapt to change and make difficult, and sometimes emotional decisions.

Whether you are looking for coping strategies or a calm, reflective space that’s just for you, sharing your experiences and being truly heard can be an empowering and life changing process.
